CASIO to Release G-SHOCK with New Shock-Resistant Construction
A Streamlined G-SHOCK for Enhanced Wearability

BASEL, March 21, 2018 – Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the latest addition to the G-SHOCK line of shock-resistant watches. The new MTG-B1000 features a new shock-resistant construction that makes for an even more streamlined feel on the wrist. Part of the MT-G series of watches, which are known for their construction leveraging the properties of both metal and resin, it will be available in three models.

The new MTG-B1000 features the latest evolution of the Core Guard Structure used in the MT-G series. The Core Guard Structure employs a metal frame that is formed by joining the bezel and back cover with metal parts to house the module and provide shock resistance. Previous models used a linked, four-pipe construction, but the new Core Guard Structure links the bezel and back cover with planar parts to form a box frame. With the new construction, the layout of the parts has been rearranged, allowing for a streamlined profile for enhanced wearability.

The MTG-B1000 keeps accurate time anywhere in the world using the Connected Engine module, which connects to a time server via a paired smartphone, or using radio wave time-calibration signals. The watch connects to the G-SHOCK Connected smartphone app to enable the user to easily set the world time and alarms from the app. The app also collects and analyses usage data from the watch to realize various features such as reminding the user to charge the watch and warning about possible magnetic interference.

The face is made from sapphire crystal while the metal parts are polished and treated with a hairline finish, for a refined look through every detail. The watch also features a soft urethane band for enhanced wearability, which is attached using durable fine resin and metal parts for optimum strength.
