Handheld device for warehousing
The compact and extremely robust new Casio DT-X200 is ideally suited for tough working conditions. Available with a laser scanner, 2D imager or All-Range imager, the light-weight handheld device boasts impressive reading and de-coding rates, even if the barcodes are damaged. RFID/NFC functionality is available as an option.

Just as lightweight and robust as its successful predecessor, the DT-X8, the new DT-X200 offers significantly improved performance and ex-ceptional read quality, making it an ideal industrial handheld device for all warehouse applications. "Our Japanese engineers have integrated new scanner and imager modules. When used in conjunction with opti-mised decoding algorithms, this results in an exceptionally high detec-tion rate", explains Thomas Uppenkamp, head of the Mobile Industrial Solutions Business Unit at CASIO Europe GmbH. "The DT-X200 can simultaneously read and decode multiple codes–even damaged codes–at lightning speed. Good or bad reads are confirmed optically, acoustically and with vibration". This is useful in a noisy environment. Thanks to the increased range, the imager model and the All-Range model have a clear laser aiming point. On both the scanner and the im-ager, the scanner head is angled downwards in order to make it even easier to operate the device. By angling the scanner in this way, the de-vice is more comfortable to hold and the user can see the display during the scanning process. Three trigger buttons minimise the amount of fin-ger movement.
The CASIO DT-X200 has been ergonomically designed and is extreme-ly resistant to external influences. Its lightweight housing is manufac-tured from a highly elastic plastic (elastomer) and can withstand drops onto concrete from a height of three meters. The bright colour display (Blanview®) is housed behind a very robust touchscreen, making it an ideal device for warehouse applications and outdoor use. The device of-fers protection against dust and water penetration in accordance with the IP67 protection class and is fully functional at temperatures between -20°C and +50°C. Come rain or shine–or even at extremely cold temperatures–the CASIO DT-X200 has the ideal features to prove its worth in the long-term when used in tough working conditions. The balanced design and the non-slip surface on the bottom of the device allow it to be operated easily and effortlessly.
The CASIO DT-X200 is equipped with a Marvell® PXA 320 processor (806 MHz) and plenty of memory. The operating system of the unit is Microsoft® Windows® Embedded Compact 7. It is extremely easy to in-tegrate the mobile devices into existing applications and standard solu-tions. The combination of powerful hardware and a proven operating system means that the device represents a secure investment over many years and is suitable for a great number of applications. Bluetooth® (2.1) and WLAN (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n) are integrated for fast data communication.
Thanks to a selection of five models, the most economical type from the DT-X200 series can be used for each specific task without compromise. The CASIO DT-X200 is supplied ready to use with a 2860 mAh bat-tery, USB cable, wrist strap and mains adapter. The high-performance lithium-ion battery can power the lightweight 285 gram device for around 20 to 25 hours.
Thomas Uppenkamp: "The impressive features that come with the CASIO DT-X200, and more specifically its handy design, ensure that this handheld terminal is extremely ergonomic and suitable for applica-tions requiring frequent and rapid scanning in tough conditions. Among those who could benefit from such a device are transportation and logis-tics companies and, in particular, industrial and commercial enterprises".
