BASEL, March 18, 2015 – Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the release of the latest additions to its line of EDIFICE analog watches. The new EQB-510 and ECB-500 watches feature simple watch faces that enable the wearer to read the time at a glance. They also link with smartphones, making it easy to check the time of more than 300 cities worldwide in 40 time zones by sub dial.

Starting in 2014, Casio has been creating new products based on its "Global Time Sync" development concept of offering analog watches for a global era. From G-SHOCK and OCEANUS watches that receive GPS and radio wave time-calibration signals, to EDIFICE watches that can be linked with smartphones, Casio watches are gaining acclaim as advanced time keeping systems that deliver accurate time anywhere in the world.

The new EDIFICE EQB-510 and ECB-500 watches expand the lineup of watches based on the "Global Time Sync" concept and are based on the Smartphone Link EQB-500, which enables users to easily check the time of more than 300 cities worldwide by sub dial from a smartphone app. This capability means that both the analog-style EQB-510 and digital-analog style ECB-500 make it even easier to set the world time. Designed for business users, they feature multidimensional, high-contrast watch faces. The simple layouts clearly present both the local time and one world time at a glance. Users can also easily switch the time displayed on the inset dial to the main dial and vice versa, either from the watch or a smartphone, to view the local time on the main hour and minute hands while traveling and the home time on the inset dial.

Just like the EQB-500 watch, the new watches connect with a smartphone*¹ with just one push of a button, and automatically adjust the time to the current location while correcting for daylight savings time if needed. This is accomplished with superb usability, because the time can be set just by selecting a location on a world map or from a list of cities included in the Casio smartphone app.

Main Features of EQB-510 and ECB-500

By using the downloadable CASIO WATCH+ app*² and connecting to a smartphone, users can access the following Mobile Link functions with the EQB-510 and ECB-500 watches.

❑ The time of more than 300 cities worldwide can be shown on sub dial just by selecting from a world map or city list.
❑ The watch automatically adjusts the time to the previously specified home and international locations (correcting for daylight savings if needed), at a specified time each day.
❑ Information about daylight savings is kept up to date by just updating the application.
❑ Alarm and various other time settings can be easily reset using a smartphone.
Phone Finder function enables a smartphone alarm to be activated by pressing a watch button.
*2 The CASIO WATCH+ application will be made available for download from the App Store for iPhone or Google Play for Android smartphones along with the release of the EQB-510 watches.
