CASIO to Release New G-SHOCK to Commemorate 20th Anniversary of MT-G Series
Bezel Finished with Vivid Rainbow Ion Plating

Basel, March 20, 2019 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the latest addition to its G-SHOCK line of shock-resistant watches. The new MTG-B1000RB is finished with rainbow ion plating and commemorates the 20th anniversary of the MT-G series of watches, which are known for a construction that makes the most of the properties of both metal and resin.

CASIO first introduced the MT-G Series in November 1999, based on the concept of leveraging both metal and resin. The new MTG-B1000RB is a special model commemorating the 20th anniversary of the MT-G Series. The bezel of the watch is finished with rainbow ion plating, which vividly refracts light in different colours to evoke a “lunar rainbow”.*

The base model for the watch is the MTG-B1000, which realised toughness in a compact case by employing a Core Guard Structure that links the bezel and back cover with planar parts. The Core Guard Structure forms a tough metal frame that protects the inner case from external shocks. The glass is made from sapphire crystal, and the metal parts are polished and treated with a hairline finish, for a look that is refined down to every detail. The watch also features a soft urethane band for enhanced wearability, which is attached using durable fine resin and metal parts for optimum strength.

The special packaging is also finished with rainbow ion plating for a look worthy of an anniversary model.

*Lunar rainbow: A rainbow produced by moonlight rather than sunlight. Lunar rainbows are extremely faint, and the colours are difficult to identify with the naked eye unless it is completely dark, making this one of the most treasured and mysterious weather events.
