CASIO expands outdoor segment
Smaller, lighter, flatter: the PRO TREK PRW-500-1VER for mountain climbing beginners
Norderstedt, August 2008 - With the new PRO TREK PRW-500-1VER, CASIO expands its spectrum of outdoor watches with a model that is extremely flat (only 11,6 mm) and unusually light for a classic "mountain watch". The PRW-500-1VER might thus be the ideal beginner's watch for all those who enjoy the mountains without wanting to dare the highest peaks right away.
The diverse functions leave no room for doubt that the PRW-500-1VER is perfectly suited for a safe mountain tour: thermometer and barometer are as self-explanatory as the altimeter with altitude addition. Both are activated by a twin sensor. There's also no problem when it gets too cold: the watch is absolutely resistant to low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees. These features are complimented by Multiband 5 radio technology for radio signal reception in Europe, USA and Japan, as well as nearly unlimited energy thanks to Tough Solar technology. However, regardless of the ambition of these functions, the PRW-500-1VER is a model best recommended for beginners and new outdoor enthusiasts. With its lightness and smaller dimensions, it is also a great help for those on tour and guided groups. The PRW-500-1VER may also be the first PRO TREK with unisex qualities, and which can also inspire athletic women - on the mountain and afterwards.
The PRW-500-1VER features the following functions:
