Dachser remains true to CASIO
Delivery confirmations in the goods delivery process at logistics company Dachser will be processed with the new data terminal DT-X30 from CASIO from March 2009.
Dachser has once again chosen a CASIO model for its third generation of mobile data terminals to be in use at the company from March 2009. The 5100 devices currently in operation are to be replaced gradually with the new end devices. Over three months, 50 drivers had the opportunity to put the devices to the test and it quickly became clear that the DT-X30 was a favourite among drivers. "The reading speed is unaffected even in the most unfavourable light conditions. The ergonomics are also excellent", says Thomas von Jan, project manager at Dachser.
GPRS, GPS and camera in one device and ergonomic to boot
The technical specifications of the mobile terminal were based on the future demands of the logistics field and the device comes equipped with GPRS, GPS, WLAN and Bluetooth. A 2 megapixel camera with autofocus and extremely bright LED light are built into the device for documenting delivery damage and will be introduced gradually at Dachser. The 2D imager can read all standard barcodes. Signature recording for order confirmation is extremely easy via the touch display and can be carried out in high resolution. "We are pleased that Dachser has chosen our mobile end device once again and are certain that the DT-X30 will support Dachser significantly in opening up new markets" says Thomas Uppenkamp, Sales Manager of the Mobile Industrial Solution Division at CASIO Europe. The delivery and service for the mobile end devices will be carried out by long-standing CASIO partner PDS GmbH in Cologne.
