PRESS RELEASE
Aug. 27, 2008

CASIO presents two highly interesting digital piano innovations

In the digital piano bracket, CASIO offers clients three product series. The practical CDP models offer high quality basic functions for price-minded beginners, the stylish PRIVIA instruments are conceived to suit demanding clients looking for a compact model with excellent sound properties, and in the high class CELVIANOs, CASIO combines cutting edge technology with a classical look. In two of these three product series, CASIO is now introducing new models to the market. The beginner-friendly CDP series is extended by an ensemble piano, CDP-200R. In the CELVIANO-series, AP-400 completes and extends AP-200, which was introduced in spring.

With CDP-200R, clients purchase an inexpensive ensemble piano with great stereo samples of piano sounds. Packed and stacked with high performance features from the high grade keyboard category and a top notch PRIVIA keyboard, multifunctional CDP-200R fulfils all requirements expected from a modern ensemble piano today. The new AHL (acoustic & highly compressed large waveform) sound chip yields clear, dynamic sounds with 48-note polyphony, equally convincing with all sounds and rhythms. In order to render the dynamics of the sounds even more realistically, a precise interpolation and better filters have been applied. The CPU now features 32 bit technology, hence allowing high class sound generation.

New, improved digital converters (+6db compared to the HL sound chip) provide for enhanced dynamics and thus an even clearer and more accurate overall sound.

The extended equipment with rhythm and accompaniment functions as well as a huge range of extra tones and many possibilities for processing this sound material, CDP-200R offers players extensive creative possibilities. Some of the highlights are:
  • 670 tones, 200 rhythms, 152 songs
  • arpeggiator, rhythm editor, preset scales, sampling function (10 seconds)
  • SD card slot, USB, audio in, mic in, pitch bend wheel
  • large LCD, new step-up lesson system
The slim design in noble black emphasizes the claim of this new ensemble piano to aim at being number one for many clients. AP-400 includes the excellent AiF (acoustic & intelligent filtering system) sound generation with 128-note polyphony and further fine improvements (extra key splits and altered fortissimo waves), adding decisive nuances to the dynamics. In order for the sound potential to be rendered in its full clarity, AP-400 has been equipped with a completely redesigned amplifier system with 2 x 20 watts output.

The result is a thoroughly harmonic overall sound. Furthermore, AP-400 entices with its good looks. The closed back wall and the felicitous shape of the console ably interpret classical piano visuals, consistently carrying forward the demanding CELVIANO philosophy. Look and play!
