Mobile Data collection: Reader for UHF transponder

Norderstedt, 20.11.07 CASIO Europe and the microsensys GmbH from Erfurt present a new RFID reader for UHF transponders. The particularly for the CASIO DT-X11 developed reader, can be installed into the PCMCIA card location of the device by using a CF-card adapter and can so survive falls from the height of up to 1.20 meters. The reader is even perfectly protected against water or dust effects thanks to the impermeable protective cap and can be used in temperatures ranges of 0° C to +50° C.

The iID® interface for UHF tags was developed mostly for small power outputs and has a reading distance of up to 20 centimetres. The big advantage of this system is that no extra size battery or antenna makes the equipment unmanageable and so operating with the device unnecessarily difficult. The 5 V supply of the DT-X11 PCMCIA slot is sufficient enough to provide 20mA in the stand by mode and 150 mA in the active mode. The RFID UHF module of the DT-X11 supports numerous contactless protocols and is classified according to ISO standard 18000-6 part C.

The electric field is established in front of the reader. With this reader transponders of the standards ISO 18000-6 part B, EPC Class-1 Generation-1 und ISO 18000-6 part C, EPC Class-1 Generation-2 can be read – for example the Monz2-U022, Monz1A-U0001 and Monz2-u016 transponders. Microsensys would be more than pleased to help you with the choice of the appropriate RFID transponder for your application.

The combination of mobile CASIO and microsensys technology is suitable particularly in the fields of data acquisition, administration, industry and logistics.
