COMUNICATO STAMPA
01. Novembre 2006

CASIO completes the WK series upward: WK-8000 now with full range of 88 keys

The new flagship by CASIO – WK-8000 – sports 88 piano-style keys with touch response. This makes it a revelation for all keyboarders, who feel best playing an unscaled keyboard, but still wish to interpret piano pieces and enjoy the full range of more than seven octaves.

In interplay with the „piano setting“, musicians can make vivid piano sounds ring out. The key enables fast access to the special tone within this scope. All other settings such as for instance auto-accompaniment are deactivated and the single sound “Concert Grand” is available over the complete keyboard. Optimised effect adjustments provide for warm, vivid acoustic sounds in piano mode.

In addition, the top model of the WK series has everything on board that already makes WK-3300 and WK-3800 sound so convincing. The high performance ZPI sound chip offers variety-oriented musicians 670 expressive tones and 160 dynamic rhythms. Employing the IDES software (Internet Data Expansion System), users can of course also download more charge-free sounds and styles for WK-8000.

For comfortable data transmission, WK-8000 is equipped with a SD card slot and USB port. The internal Flash ROM is supplied with 4 Mb, and the SD card slot supports up to one Gigabyte of extra memory. Hundreds of sounds and rhythms can be downloaded chargefree from the CASIO MUSIC SITE; presently we are here providing brand new, fiery Latin rhythms for the users of high performance keyboards.
In addition, this top-notch instrument convinces through the following top-notch equipment: digital organ drawbars, six-track sequencer, SMF player (format 0), synthesizer and mixer, equalizer, registration memory (8 banks with 4 cells), Line Out, modulation and pitch bend wheel.
The difference between the flagship and WK-3300 and WK-3800 lies in the 88 keys and an additional larger LC Display (185 x 40 mm) as well as an extensive loudspeaker system (bass reflex). The design aims at plain elegance. Both the posh casing in the trend colour ”Titanium Silver” and the practical stand in a matching wooden look make this modern, versatile keyboard a real eye-catcher.

The new power pack by CASIO is there to be scrutinised by curious test players at authorised CASIO Music Partners from November 2006.
Recommended retail price: 749,- EUR
