The new EDIFICE EF-543D-1AVEF from Casio
Chronometer for speed and innovation Norderstedt, February 2010 - "Speed and Intelligence" - with this brand concept for the EDIFICE Collection Casio is also continuing the successful partnership with the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team and its brand ambassador Sebastian Vettel into 2010. One of the stars of the new collection is the EDIFICE EF-543D-1AVEF. This high-quality chronograph combines an exclusive, sporty look with technical refinement. Optically the EF-543D-1AVEF stands out as a result of its individual and stylish design: the striking solid stainless steel band with tyre profile look conveys sporting dynamism paired with classic elegance. The oversized casing is also made from solid stainless steel. The black ionised bezel is an eye-catcher, as are the four screw elements on the edge of the casing that integrate perfectly into the motor racing design of this watch. The Formula 1 look continues to the dial. The left eye with an involved design looks like the rim of a racing tyre in its function as the 24 hour display whereas the lower eye's red tones are similar to the colour of the rev counter in a racing car. "Speed and Intelligence" - this motto continues into technical matters for the EF-543D: the internal ring can be turned by the left crown and allows the stopwatch time to be read precisely - just like dive computers. The highlight is the so-called "retrograde" in the lower eye. This very complicated function is otherwise only found in mechanical watches. The small hand in the lower eye shows 1/10 seconds by moving between 0 and 10 in the red shaded area. What is special is that as soon as it reaches 10 it jumps back to 0 automatically and starts again - in striking contrast to the large hand that constantly shows full seconds clockwise.
