Basel, April 2, 2008 – CASIO Computer Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce a new partnership with British F1 driver David Coulthard. Under the terms of the agreement, David Coulthard will become the brand ambassador for CASIO’s EDIFICE brand of metal watches and CASIO will benefit from a wide range of marketing rights.

CASIO will introduce a completely new lineup of the EDIFICE watch series incorporating the latest technology and functions. The new range of watches include radio-controlled watches which will be available in China from July, and in Europe from September 2008. The flagship addition to the collection will feature twin chronographs with CASIO’s Wave Ceptor technology to pick up time calibration signals from radio transmission stations in the UK and Germany (EQW 500).

These high performance watches boast sturdy stainless steel case designs and refined functions including water resistance to 10 bar.

“In Formula One, more than any other sport, every moment counts. The whole race, or even the whole season, can come down to a fraction of a second,” said David Coulthard.
“I can really see the value of the EDIFICE with its accuracy and its chronograph functions.”

CASIO’s Yuichi Masuda, corporate officer and head of timepiece development, said, "We are very excited about our new partnership with David Coulthard. He is the ideal brand ambassador for the EDIFICE range. We wish him every success for this year’s F1 season."
