WAVE CEPTOR radio-controlled technology: Perfect Timing with CASIO radio-controlled watches

Norderstedt, August 2007 - Whether on the job, travelling, doing sport or for the next appointment - for perfect timing, you need a watch you can rely on. The radio-controlled watches from CASIO not only meet the highest demands regarding accuracy and reliability, they also excel with their first class design. CASIO has the right watch for every occasion and style: for example, the Dynamic Collection for today's gentleman and FELITE for the modern and self-confident woman. The advanced WAVE CEPTOR technology takes care of perfect reception of radio signals and thus always displays the exact time within the range of the radio towers. It also automatically adjusts from summer to winter time and vice versa. The advantage: no inconvenient time adjustment, no change, no delay.

Functioning
Atomic clocks are the ones responsible for this absolute precision - through radio towers, they automatically transmit the exact time to the CASIO radio-controlled watches. While atomic clocks theoretically only deviate by around one second in a million years, quartz clocks deviate by a few seconds a month, and mechanical clocks even more. Many CASIO radio-controlled watches also have perfectly engineered multi-band technology. This takes care of signal reception in large parts of Europe, Japan and the USA, as well as major parts of Mexico and Canada. The radio signal is sent from five radio towers: Mainflingen (Germany); Anthorn (England); Fort Collins (USA), as well as two towers in Japan on the mountains Otakadone and Hagane. For example, the calibration signal of the radio transmitter in Mainflingen reaches a watch with radio-controlled technology within a radius of up to 1.500 km. The time calibration signal is received automatically up to six times a day. This is especially practical when travelling: So as not to have to wait for the next automatic calibration signal - for example when changing time zone - reception can also be done manually at any time. At the touch of a button, the radio-controlled watch will receive the signal after adjusting to the new time zone. Within a short time, the radio-controlled watch displays the exact time. Punctuality has never been easier!
