Mysterious X-phenomenon solved
CASIO starts grand finale for EXILIM on-line event -
live on the Web until January 16

Norderstedt, 9 January 2007 CASIO Europe GmbH

The mystery of the X-phenomenon, which has been keeping the on-line community throughout Europe in suspense in recent months, is close to being solved. To celebrate the market launching of the new EXILIM EX-S770 digital camera, CASIO Europe asked Internet users to send in photographic evidence of the so-called "X-phenomenon", meaning photos which document just how often X symbols are encountered in our daily lives. The result was overwhelming. More than 5,000 photos of X-finds from all over the world were uploaded to www.x-is-everywhere.com, and more than 17,000 users supported the campaign by adding their names to the on-line petition. Thanks to the fantastic response of the users, the puzzle is now close to being solved.

The TEAM X, which is dedicated to the research of this phenomenon and is headed by Dr. Ignatz M. Foreman, was able to analyze all the submitted sightings. A program was then developed to compute the solution to the X-mystery. It sorts the X-sightings according to a secret logarithm. The super computer with the decoding program will start running on January 9 at 12:00 am, and will require exactly 7 days to sort all the photos. And the exciting thing is: users will be able to watch the decoding live on screen at www.x-is-everywhere.com to find out, picture by picture, what's behind the X-mystery. Don't miss it!
