The small and robust DT-X5 has it all, and combines the advantages of the Microsoft Windows© CE©.Net operating system with complete reliability and the full range of features needed for wireless data collection solutions. The terminal is available in two variants, and offers an integrated CMOS-Imager for standard and stacked 1D barcodes, alongside integrated Bluetooth™ for wireless data communication. Alternatively, the DT-X5 offers a wireless LAN module for a smooth exchange of data in accordance with IEEE802.11b Standard. An impressive 80 hours operating life makes the DT-X5 the marathon terminal of mobile data collection devices, and it can also be your reliable partner in everyday working life.

Excellent connection and interface variety

The handy DT-X5 marathon terminal has a powerful processor for demanding applications, 16 MB RAM and 64 MB F-ROM memory and can be used in various mobile network environments. An integrated IrDA and Bluetooth™ interface is standard in this terminal. As an option, the DT-X5 comes with an internal IEEE802.11b-Wireless LAN Module for reliable direct connection with a host server. This means you can work with real-time information - at a point of sale or in large warehouses. The DT-X5 runs under Microsoft Windows© CE©.Net 4.1, permits problem-free integration in existing environments and offers a wide range of possibilities for wireless communication via Bluetooth™ and Wireless LAN.

Innovative high-speed scanner for efficient data collection

The ability to read barcodes reliably and quickly is a basic prerequisite for efficient operations. The excellent performance of the DT-X5 in this area is a result of the implementation of an outstanding imager allied with improved decoding algorithms. The CMOS-Imager shows barcodes at a downwards angle of 20° and a resolution of 300,000 pixels. Completed scans can be reported in any combination of LED, buzzer or vibration. The device reads all standard 1D codes such as EAN, UPC-A/E, NW-7 (CODABAR), Code 11, CODE39, COD93, CODE128/EAN128, ITF, MSI, IATA, but also 2D codes such as Code49, PDF417 or MicroPDF.

Power Management

The DT-X5 is powered by the mains unit (100-240V) and the integrated Li-Ion battery (up to 3400 mAh depending on the model) or standard alkaline batteries. An integrated back-up battery provides additional security for user data. If two AA batteries are used, the DT-X5M30E has more than 40 hours* of operational life. The large Li-Ion battery powers the radio terminal for a full 30 hours ** with a WLAN connection. These outstanding figures are achieved by using energy-saving components in conjunction with sophisticated power management functions, which also help to reduce operating costs in everyday use.

Intelligent design and simple operation

The DT-X5 paves the way to easing workloads and boosting efficiency. It is easy to operate and at only about 250g pleasantly light and handy. The DT-X5 is extremely stable and resistant. Its magnesium casing has a hard-wearing plastic cover, offering excellent protection against knocks and dropping. The mobile data collection device is thus perfectly suited for a tough working environment. Thanks to its highly reliable data storage, the DT-X5 also minimizes errors. Users in the fields of retailing, transportation and logistics in particular greatly appreciate its design.

Bluetooth™ included

Bluetooth™ offers innumerable possibilities for integrating modern data transfer standards in powerful industrial applications. From synchronization between DT-X5 and PC or the use of a Bluetooth™ modem as access point to the global telephone network, through to completely mobile communication via GPRS networks: the integrated Bluetooth™ interface makes a wide range of communication solutions possible.

No matter whether digital camera, PDA or industry-standard Pocket PC: The original CASIO LCD technology is renown for its excellent quality. The semi-transparent LC screen with 128 x 160 pixels and white background illumination delivers an absolutely clear image with sharp contrasts and thus optimum readability across a wide working temperature range. In sunlight or darkness - with this screen the DT-X5 is perfectly deployable even in the most unfavourable conditions.

Drop and splash proof to IP54

CASIO hardware stands for absolute reliability and longevity. With its plastic-coated magnesium case, the DT-X5 survives drops on concrete from 1.80 meters. It also meets protection class IP54 as per IEC60529 Standard for dust and splash protection. The DT-X5 works perfectly in temperatures of -20°C to 50°C. The ideal qualities for long-term survival in tough working conditions.
