The DT-900 offers a unusually large range of applications in areas such as procurement, goods inwards control, order data collection, stock levels control, commissioning, shelf data collection, despatch and delivery data collection as well as the classical stocktaking solution.
The DT-900 is particularly suited to shelf data collection. Because of the variable laser width, barcodes that are stacked in close proximity can be clearly located and scanned.
Its special ability to swiftly read barcodes at high tolerance that are relatively pale, sub-standard or positioned on irregular surfaces is due to its laser unit, which properly analyses the barcode at a rate of 100 scans per second.
A compact and especially robust construction, combined with the high performance capability of the IT-2000 also make it suitable for use in a rugged environment e.g. data collection for tools and parts, or outdoors e.g. for logging data in forestry work and many other and many other types of location.
The integrated IrDA interface permits direct communication with a GSM mobile phone or the printing of data on an infra-red printer. In spite of its mobility, the DT-900 is compact (only 198g) and has a very low power consumption (about 150 operational hours with two batteries.
Data are protected by its non-volatile memory, as well as additional data backup facilities. Further expansions in its functionality can simply be added to the PDA as software - an aspect which is made possible by its non-volatile memory.
