Multifunctional terminal for delivery service and ticketing
The new model of the proven CASIO IT-9000 mobile computer offers everything you need for mobile entry of data and for printing receipts, with a built-in receipt printer, RFID/NFC functionality, GPS, 2D image scanner, digital camera and magnetic card reader. This robust multifunctional terminal is perfect for use as a mobile cash register within delivery logistics and outside sales, for ticket sales at events or in car parks, and for use by railway and transport companies.

The current version of the CASIO IT-9000 handheld device–which has proven its value over three device generations–features increased computing power and uses the most recent operating system from Microsoft®. Many aspects of the device have been optimised. More than 40,000 units have been sold and this experience has led to the development of a sophisticated multifunctional terminal. The terminal is used internationally by delivery companies and service organizations, as well as in ticketing services for national railways and for regional transport companies, events and car park management. It is ideal for handling all tasks in the area of mobile data acquisition and receipt printing, right through to online payment processing. Integrated SAM slots (Secure Access Module) enable secure protection against tampering, meaning that new legal requirements relating to mobile cash register systems can be met.
Everything is integrated, from employee authentication via NFC smart card to RFID functionality and the CMOS imager for all common ID codes. There is also a magnetic card reader for entering customer data, a digital camera for image capturing and GPS for determining location. After data is processed using communication with WLAN or with the mobile network, receipts and tickets can be printed out directly.
The print unit and paper tray of the CASIO IT-9000 are seamlessly integrated into the handheld housing and are well protected against external influences such as impacts, dust and rain. The printer works very quickly and has some special features that perfect the receipt or label printing process and make the device easier to handle in mobile operation. For example, the 80 mm wide thermal paper can be fed in both directions, which results in significantly reduced printing times, improved print quality and lower paper consumption. The device can process a paper roll up to 44 mm thick. It is positioned in a way that ensures that the paper is always perfectly positioned during printing. After printing, the receipt can be cleanly ripped off using a tear-off edge. A block code reader integrated in the printer helps to detect the position of the paper and can be used to check the number of receipts printed.
For ticketing services, the multifunctional terminal can be used together with a PIN pad so that the devices can immediately accept payments, for example from Girocard (EC card). The PIN pad can use the CASIO IT-9000's UMTS connection to send encrypted data to the bank's authorisation systems, ensuring that transactions are handled securely. Successful payments can be confirmed on the PIN pad and a receipt can be printed.
Security services can use GPS to document the position of a parking offence, for example, and to photograph it using a digital camera. The receipt printer generates the parking ticket straight away. Within the waste disposal sector and GWS supply services, consumption data can be recorded on the move and printed out. When used in service organisations, reports can be printed on site and receipts can be issued for payments. Any orders for spare parts can be placed immediately via 3G WWAN.
The CASIO IT-9000 is splashproof and dustproof (IP54), works at temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius, and can even survive undamaged when dropped from heights of up to 1.5 metres. The powerful lithium-ion rechargeable battery and the IT-9000 power management system allow operating times of around 12 hours. The device is equipped with a Marvell® PXA 320 processor (806 MHz) and has plenty of memory. The handheld device uses the Microsoft® Windows® Embedded CE 6.0 operating system or the Handheld 6.5 operating system. This makes it extremely easy to integrate the device into existing applications and standard solutions. The combination of powerful hardware and a proven operating system means that the device represents a secure investment over many years and is suitable for a great number of applications.
